Math & Reading Enrichment for Preschool Through Adults
Individualized math & reading foundations that build confidence.
Helping students build skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning with a research-backed approach grounded in learning science. At our center, families find a warm, supportive community where every child feels seen, encouraged, and understood.
Grounded in Learning Science
Our step-by-step method introduces one new concept at a time, helping students grow steadily without feeling overwhelmed.
Small Steps, Big Progress
Short, consistent daily work strengthens memory, focus, and long-term retention — key foundations of lasting academic confidence.
A Place Where Students Belong
Families tell us their children feel truly supported here. We take time to know each student and celebrate their growth.
Confidence & Independence
Students learn to tackle challenges independently, develop strong study habits, and build resilience that extends beyond academics.
Skills That Last for Life
Our mastery-based approach supports long-term academic growth — helping students strengthen logic, memory, and critical thinking.
Warm, Personalized Support
Families appreciate our caring environment where every child is known, encouraged, and supported throughout their learning journey.
Where students start
A head start, catching up, or ready for more
Families come to us from very different places. Every one of them works the same way, because students are placed by what they can do rather than by grade.
Age 3 and up
Getting a head start
Children can begin as early as three, while the brain is forming connections fastest. Counting, pencil control and letter sounds come first, so school starts on familiar ground.
Catching up
Falling behind and needs help
When school has moved on and the basics never locked in, we go back to the level where the work is comfortable and rebuild from there. Gaps close because nothing gets skipped.
English language
Learning English
Children and adults learning English build vocabulary, reading and writing in small daily steps, with reading material chosen for their level rather than their age.
Ready for more
Not being challenged at school
Students who are bored in class finally get work that pushes them. There is no waiting for the rest of the class and no upper limit on how far they go.
There is no ceiling
Students work at their own pace and advance as soon as a level is solid, so over time most of our students are working grade levels ahead of their class.
Programs
Math and reading tutoring in Grand Rapids
Two programs, one habit. Students work a short set of worksheets every day and come to the center twice a week, so skills build in small steps instead of cram sessions.
Math
From counting and number sense through algebra, geometry, trigonometry and calculus. Students move up only once a level is solid.
Reading
Phonics and vocabulary through critical reading of full-length texts, building the comprehension that carries across every school subject.
Placement assessment
Every new student starts with a short assessment so we can place the work at the level where the student can succeed on day one.
Who we work with
Not just after-school math and reading
Our students range from preschoolers to adults. Because the work is individualized, the same method fits a first grader learning to read and an adult keeping their mind sharp.
Children, 3 through high school
Math and reading at the level where each student is ready to work.
ESL for adults and children
English learners of any age, building vocabulary, reading and writing.
Adults and seniors
Steady daily practice for anyone who wants to keep their mind sharp.
Students with special needs
Small repeatable steps and a patient pace, with work chosen per student.
Two ways to do the work
The paper program
The traditional worksheet program. Students write by hand, one short set a day, and keep every page as a record of their progress.
The digital program
The same curriculum on an iPad with a digital pen, so students still form every letter and number by hand while work and feedback move faster.
Parent reviews
A parent’s experience at our center
Families see their children grow in confidence, discipline and independence. Some reviews are shortened, and brand names are shown in brackets.
“My child has developed confidence and discipline. More than learning math and English, she’s learned how to learn — focus, daily practice, and the importance of routine. What sets Bincy apart is that she genuinely cares. She knows every child, cares about their growth, and invests personally in their success.”
“My son Jiovanni’s experience … has been life-changing. Before we started, he struggled in reading and math, and his confidence was at an all-time low. … Over time, he began completing his work independently and with pride. His grades improved dramatically, and I’ll never forget the joy and relief I felt seeing how far he had come.”
“My son was in [the program] from 3 years old to 11 years old. … Most importantly, he developed the skills to do his schoolwork independently — we never had to teach or watch him do it since preschool. Bincy and her staff were very helpful, patient, and professional. It was a great investment!”
“He had begun losing interest in school, but the curriculum and staff at this center helped him see how much he could accomplish. … [It] reignited his motivation and set him up for success in his AP classes in high school — and those benefits will carry on to college.”
“Both my kids, now 20 and 17, started when they were very young. The structured approach and daily practice built their confidence and fostered a love for learning. The instructors are patient, knowledgeable, and truly care about each student’s progress. The personalized pace allowed my kids to grow independently while still feeling challenged.”
“My boys have been going … for over six years with Bincy, and their center is hands-down the best we’ve experienced. Bincy runs the center effectively, and we always feel like part of the family here. I strongly advocate for [it] as an early habit that teaches kids to do a little work every day.”

Questions parents ask
Before you enroll
We enroll students from preschool through high school in math and reading, and we also work with adults and seniors, English language learners of any age, and students with special needs. Placement follows what a student can do, not the grade they are in.
We are at Knapp’s Corner in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and serve families across the greater Grand Rapids area, including Forest Hills, Knapp’s Corner, Ada, Comstock Park, Belmont, Rockford and Walker.
Daily assignments take about 30 minutes per subject. Students come to the center twice a week during center hours (Mon 3:00–7:00 pm, Tue & Wed 3:00–6:00 pm, Thu 3:00–7:00 pm) — families pick the days and times that work for them — and complete the other days’ assignments at home. New students and early learners often need less time.
Every new student takes a placement assessment. We start at the level where the work is comfortable, so early wins build confidence before the material gets harder.
Fill out the Tell Me More form. We will follow up to schedule a visit, walk you through the program, and place the student after the assessment.
